I don’t own Reforged so don’t force in to me. It includes Reforged graphics which can be used in World Editor without owning Reforged. I do agree that the lack of a “Classic only” deployment is pretty annoying. Such deployment would be around 4GB odd and improve the reachability of Warcraft III: Reforged quite a lot.

The only solution that comes to mind is sticking to classic maps that were created back in classic world editor. Those maps should be opening fine on reforged too, but as soon as you save them using reforged editor, they become only playable on reforged, so take your pick carefully. Im giving up on warcraft 3.
Technical support can sometimes help identify problems, like software conflicts, old drivers ect. Keep your integrated graphics card off. Enable V-sync and lower the maximum framerate to 70 fps. in theory that should help with the spikes during gameplay - let me know if it works.
