The larger front gives the motor more leverage, so that alone is easier on the clutch. But any extreme style riding is harder on everything. The KTM clutch is a design marvel tho and can handle a lot of abuse. It has some rubber cushions inside the basket that can wear out faster than the fibers sometimes.
I was looking through the threads on which battery to upgrade a customers battery to and find the ytz7s as the battery that is larger in size for the ktm. when i look in my book i dont see any difference in the stock battery which is a ytx5l-bs. they are same exact dimensions and CCA.. what are you ktm guys going with for sure?? 2013 ktm 500exc
I have a 2008 KTM 450 EXC-R. It will usually e-start when cold, but rarely after it's been running. I put in a new top-of-the-line battery, but it didn't make any difference. The bike has 60 hours on it. I cannot kick start it either. It seems that there is too much compression for the e-start or kick start to get the engine turning fast enough.O.E.M. Cr500 only made 48-52 hp where the KTM -525 makes60 at wheel and the 450 is in low 50s for HP so I'd love to have him tune my 525 and get me 90-100 hp from one of his "tunes" lol. I got an 09’ Beta 525 rs of course with an rfs motor. I really haven’t been so into top speed. I dig the lugging power and the motor manners.
