This is true, although it has been proven to help notchy gear changes, I have been quoted £120 to get it done which I feel is a bit expensive. Yeah, it’s around £35-40 in oil if using genuine, so £80 ish labour. Does seem expensive for something that takes 30 mins or so to do. DIY, it looks a doddle in comparison to the DSG.

Gearbox oil is thicker than normal engine oil so it'll come out faster when at working temp. here you have a video link of a how-to-do.What you will need: -VW/Audi Transmission Drain Plug Tool (available from germanautoparts.com, ecstuning.com, mjmautohaus.com, etc) -Three bottles of transmission fluid, either OEM VW fluid, or an approved non-OEM fluid such as Redline MT-90 like I used. -1/2" drive ratchet for drain plug tool. -Fluid Pump (well under $10 at an auto parts storeAudi Gearbox Oil Change Cost: £100-110.
